Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Anyone
I don’t know about your local grocery store, but as soon as Christmas was over, they rolled out all their Valentine’s day stuff! Goodness, can I please put my tree away first??
But here we are in February already! Don’t wait until crunch time to get your special someone something. I think everyone has been guilty of resorting to a drugstore/gas station gift before, or have been on the receiving end of someone who was guilty of that. So sad….
Don’t let that be you this year! Here are some ideas to help you find just the right thing (or help someone else find the right thing)!
Not Your Run of the Mill Valentine’s Day Cards
For something a little tongue in cheek, yet somehow heartwarming, check out this card!
This next card is right up my alley with it’s Konglishness! Plus it’s an instant download!
A little bling goes a long way
This cute little charm bracelet is made using Korean maedeup cording and the charm says “sarang” which is “love” in Korean. It’s such a perfect little way to express how you feel without going over the top but still wanting to show that you were thinking of them
How about a necklace instead? This charm necklace is hand stamped with “I love you” in Korean.
The way to anyone’s heart is always through their stomach!
Do you love to bake? How about baking up some cookies using this cookie cutter that says “I love you” in Korean? No need to remind them that it was made with love. It says it for you!
And don’t forget that you could always just make them something to eat! Try my easy recipe for hotteok with a twist (a deliciously sweet apple cinnamon flat bun). Afraid you’ll burn the kitchen down? No problem! How about a mixed drink instead? This soju and Korean yogurt drink is amazing! Or better yet, serve them together!
Something to make them smile everyday
This air plant stand with “love” in Korean carved out would be perfect to liven up your special someone’s otherwise dreary cubicle! It’s also quite perfect for someone who has absolutely no green thumb (i.e. me)!
Here’s a great gift if you’re a DIY kind-of person! Embroider the small heart hand gesture that was made oh-so popular by Korean celebrities. It’s just the right amount of kitsch!
Here’s something that’s near a dear to me as an avid coffee drinker! A hand calligraphed tumbler! They’ll write the name/phrase you want in Korean. Is it bad that I kind-of want to put an insult or something other than sweet nothings? That’s how you know someone’s been married for awhile! Lol! I’d put on there something like “My wife is the best. She got me this tumbler. I don’t know what it says.” But I would tell him that it’s some romantic poem in Korean. And he’d be none the wiser! 😂
You can fill this tumbler with a gift certificate to Starbucks or maybe put that necklace or bracelet from above inside! It’d be such a nice little surprise!
None of these gifts are expensive. So you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg!
But whatever you decide to do, the best gift is a thoughtful gift! It’s the depth of your caring, not the depth of your wallet that matters!
Have you been guilty of getting the last minute gift at the drug store to give to your sweetie? Or were you on the receiving end? Dish in the comments because I’ve been there too!
